Ogden has a reputation as an outdoor recreation mecca for good reason.  Not only is Ogden in close proximity to the mountains where you can enjoy three world-class ski resorts and hundreds of miles of trail network, it is framed by two river systems offering year-round, multi-use recreation opportunities.  The Ogden River, one of three blue ribbon fishery locations in the area, flows out of Pineview Reservoir located just eight miles East up Ogden Canyon. The river and reservoir serves as a major recreation venue for boaters, fishermen, stand up paddle boarders and kayakers.  In the winter months, you’ll find ice fishermen and cross-country skiers sharing the space.

Mountain trails can be accessed from any part of the city in under five minutes when traveling by car and serve as a popular site for mountain biking, hiking and site-seeing.  The lower trail system is incorporated into the Centennial Trail, a 27-mile trail system that circumnavigates the city.

Ogden is notoriously eventful.  Not only was Ogden a host of the 2002 Winter Olympics, the area plays host to multiple world class events such as the Twilight Concert Series, Banff Film Festival, XTERRA USA Championships, the Ogden Marathon and many, many more.  The City actively attracts visitors from around the globe annually to participate and enjoy its activities.
